Brush Roll Bag
As an artist who loves urban sketching, I was on the hunt for a brush roll bag, but most of the ones I found were way too bulky for my needs. I only needed something to hold around 7-8 brushes, and carrying a huge pouch around during sketching trips was just not cutting it. So, I decided to DIY my own! It's super easy—just grab a regular cotton handkerchief, which also doubles as a rag while painting. You don’t even have to buy any new fabric; you can upcycle an old T-shirt or bedsheet. It’s perfect for on-the-go!
I went through different iterations and the process is ongoing. So, here are the final products after every iteration.
Iteration #1

Iteration #2

Iteration #3

Things needed for simple roll:
- Sewing machine (a small portable one or even hand sewing machine would do)
- Scissor
- Threads
- Large cotton handkerchief
- Rectangle piece of cloth (preferably up-cycled)
- Elastic
Step 1 : Take a large cotton Handkerchief

Step 2 : Fold it in half and sew it.
Step 3 : Take another Half cloth and place it on the lower half. Sew only the Left, bottom and right side, and leave the top open

Step 4 : Make vertical stitches to keep the brushes. And optionally add elastic during the stitch to keep the brushes more secure.
Step 5 : Optionally stitch a ribbon at the end to secure the pouch after rolling

Step 6 : And we have the final DIY Brush roll ready to use :)
